Balgownie Estate has two vineyards, the original in Bendigo planted in 1969 with cabernet sauvignon and shiraz and the second in the Yarra Valley, planted in 2003 with chardonnay and pinot noir.

Their philosophy revolves around wine quality being initiated in the vineyard, simply put they believe healthy vines produce healthy, vibrant fruit which is why their management structure aims for a balance between vegetative growth and moderate yields.

Wine maker Tony Winspear, as a lover of these two cooler climate grapes, combines the two grapes from the Yarra Valley uses his expertise to create this delightful sparkling wine.

Premium Cuveé Brut NV

This wine is predominantly a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir with 30% barrel fermented in old oak with the balance fermented in tank. The extended lees contact has provided hints of brioche.

The characteristics are bright and lifted aroma of citrus and new season's apples with hints of guava and passionfruit. It has a lovely fine bead and an elegant crisp finish.
